London, 2011 – Surya Productions in association with The Tea Shop and Film Company announce principal photography on feature film Tower Block. Commencing 18th July, Tower Block will be directed by first time duo Ronnie Thompson and James Nunn and shot on location around East London.
Tower Block is a British thriller movie starring SHERIDAN SMITH (Musical production of Legally Blonde, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps), JACK O’CONNELL (Eden Lake, Harry Brown, Skins), RUSSELL TOVEY (Being Human, History Boys) and RALPH BROWN (Mean Machine, Huge, Killing Bono). Tower Block is written by James Moran (Torchwood, Severance) and produced by James Harris (Screwed, Cockneys Vs Zombies), Mark Lane (Cockneys Vs Zombies) and Ronnie Thompson (Screwed). Sales are handled by Simon Crowe’s SC Films International.

When Jimmy, 15, is brutally murdered by two hooded figures, Becky (Sheridan Smith), Kurtis (Jack O’Connell), Neville (Ralph Brown) and the other residents of Tower Block 31 are witnesses to the killing but fearing retribution they are too scared to give detectives any information and the police investigation is going nowhere.
One year later and someone has taken justice into their own hands. Picked off one by one, the tenants of Tower Block 31 are under threat from a mystery sniper who has also set traps throughout the building holding them prisoners in their own homes.
Unsure of why they have been targeted the group put their differences aside undertaking daring attempts to escape the building. But with every exit leading to another death, will they ever escape Tower Block 31?

The secret is out: I've written another movie. Well, I've written several, but this one is getting made next week. It's called Tower Block, it's a dark, gritty action thriller about a sniper attacking the residents of a tower block (hence the name), and it starts filming this Monday, 18th July.
Okay, it wasn't *really* a secret, we just didn't want to announce it before we had everything in place. Also, I get paranoid that I'll jinx things by mentioning them too early, so I've kept quiet about it until now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not superstitious - it's just that if I don't follow my own irrational routines, then the WORLD WILL END.
Tower Block stars Sheridan Smith, Jack O'Connell, Russell Tovey, and Ralph Brown, and is being co-directed by Ronnie Thompson and James Nunn. There are more cast to announce, but I'll wait until the publicity people reveal them. I'm so excited that it's getting made, with such a fantastic cast and an amazing directing duo, and I'm dying to see what madness and mayhem they achieve on screen. I can't wait to sit at the back of the cinema and watch the audiences when it's out, too - this one's going to be a nail biter, it's relentless.
