Two London events have raised tens of thousands of pounds for National AIDS Trust and Terrence Higgins Trust.

Last night’s Supper Club event in London raised a record £95,000 for THT.

High profile guests who supported the event included Graham Norton, Russell Tovey, Theresa May MP, Gail Porter and John Partridge.

Debbie Holmes, director of fundraising at THT, said the charity was “thrilled” at the amount raised by more than 500 guests.

Meanwhile, the Wig Party, held on October 10th, also raised a record amount of £45,000 for NAT.

The event was held at the Cafe de Paris, with a theme of Wigs in Space. Celebrities including Leona Lewis, Dannii Minogue and Beverly Knight attended.

Josh Rafter, chairman and founder of the Wig Party, thanked attendees for making the event “the most successful year on record”.

Deborah Jack, chief executive of NAT, added: “We are thrilled to be part of the Wig Party.

“The money raised will make a real difference to NAT’s work – changing attitudes, challenging injustice and changing lives – plus partnering such a high profile event will help raise awareness of HIV at a time when it’s fallen off the public and media agenda.”
