This song and video pay homage to the traditional fairytale, but with a contemporary and decidedly adult twist. Billed as "a fantasmagorical work of fictional fabulosity," the film "is a frivolous, fairytale frolic intended solely for harmless, humorous purposes to lighten up an occasionally dull existence.

TOM’S
BREAD-AND-BUTTER PUDDING
WITH JAM CRUST
Ingredients
8 slices of slightly stale white bread
1 tbsp. butter, softened
5 eggs
4 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. desiccated coconut
Jam (your choice)
Preheat oven to moderate 375 degrees. Lightly butter a square or rectangular cooking pan that would hold 4 slices of bread sitting on top as a crust and 4 slices of bread on bottom as a base.
Very lightly butter all bread on one side of each.
Arrange 4 bread slices, buttered side down completely covering bottom of dish.
Beat together eggs, egg yolk, sugar and salt in large bowl. Beat in milk, cream and vanilla. Pour mixture through a strainer over the bread slices. Set the baking dish in larger pan of hot water. Fill larger cooking pan with about 1 inch of boiling water.
With remaining 4 slices of bread cover with a goodly helping of blackberry or raspberry jam and set them on top with jam side facing down into mixture. On top outside layer of bread spread some more butter and sprinkle a very light layer of desiccated coconut so that it will go golden brown when cooked. Don’t overdo the coconut less is more!
Bake in preheated moderate oven 375 degrees for 1 hour or until centre is almost set but still soft. Do not over bake bread pudding; the custard will set as it cools.
Remove pudding from water bath to wire rack. Serve warm or chilled with whipped cream or ice-cream, if you wish.
This recipe is my own mother's so I know it works if you do it right!. I was asked by a couple of Twitter friends to post the recipe as a DM but hey it's easier to blog it!
PS. If you hate coconut you can leave it off...not a prob! xxx
