Huge is finally on DVD October 2011. In his “promising debut as a filmmaker” (The Observer), comedian Ben Miller (The Armstrong & Miller Show, Johnny English, Comic Relief) takes us on a hilarious and heartfelt journey to the dark side of stand-up comedy. BAFTA-winning actor Noel Clarke (Adulthood, 4.3.2.1) and BAFTA-nominated Johnny Harris (This Is England ’86, London To Brighton) are joined by BAFTA-winning actress Thandie Newton (Run Fat Boy Run, Crash), Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman) and comedy’s finest names: Eddie Izzard, David Baddiel, Jo Brand, Jack Dee, Harry Hill and many more. Russell Tovey (Being Human) and Tamsin Egerton (St Trinian’s) also co-star.
Feuding comedy duo Warren & Clark (played by Johnny Harris and Noel Clarke) dream of making it HUGE. As they gig around the comedy clubs of London they discover an unforgiving, cut-throat comedy circuit that is incredibly difficult to break into. When Warren betrays Clark, stealing their material to go solo, everything they have worked for is thrown into jeopardy. In a world that wants to deny their destiny, Warren and Clark must find a way to stick together if they are to have a chance at success.
HUGE will be released on DVD (£12.99) by Independent Distribution October 2011. Special Features include a live Q&A with Noel Clarke and Johnny Harris.
Press play to see a rather amusing Blip TV segment about the gayness of being a werewolf. Yes, there are a few moments with partially clad men from movies and TV shows, as well as, Russell Tovey from Being Human.

With RUSSELL TOVEY
Almost three years back, Emma Thompson and her husband Greg Wise started dropping hints that they had developed a script called Effie, which would follow Victorian art critic, social thinker and poet John Ruskin, who had a strange and ultimately disastrous marriage to a woman named Euphemia ‘Effie’ Gray. Ruskin couldn’t consummate the marriage, and Effie finally fell for Ruskin’s protégé John Everett Millais.
A few different actresses have been attached or rumoured for the role of Effie Gray, most notably Carey Mulligan and Saoirse Ronan but it seems Dakota Fanning will be playing Effie.
The film is finally coming together with Richard Laxton directing. Richard’s credits are varied but he is most noticeably adept at both TV and movie direction. Richard’s association with Russell Tovey, making the TV series Him & Her, has led Russell to be offered a part in the Effie movie. Further casting includes Greg Wise playing Ruskin, and Emma Thompson will be Lady Eastlake, Effie’s confidante and caretaker.
Tom Sturridge will play the young artist Millais and Julie Walters and Derek Jacobi will play Ruskin’s parents. Edward Fox is in talks to play Sir Charles Eastlake, patron of the Royal Academy and an individual opposed to Ruskin.
The film will shoot starting October 17 in Scotland, London and Venice. Part of the reason it has taken so long to come together is that producers were sued by Gregory Murphy, who claimed his play The Countess, which covers some of the same ground, had been appropriated.
My favourite part of this story, and one that adds a slightly lurid twist: the broken marriage was a bit of an issue in Victorian England, and when Effie claimed in court that Ruskin was impotent and unable to consummate their marriage, he actually demonstrated his virility in court.

WEREWOLVES OF LONDON
The CGI tableau of werewolves is getting closer to being finished. This long term art project by student Mark M. Merrett [@MarkMMerrett] of London is painstakingly slow, as each individual werewolf is rendered in pencil first, then digitised. Mark has extended the original concept of just having Russell Tovey & Charlie Condou to now include many other people associated with the blog or TV show Being Human. Mark has been commissioned to produce pictures for a variety of people who'd like to be werewolves. What is really remarkable is how Mark has managed to complete this project while attending courses and overcoming severe dyslexia. More power to him!
Above and below are examples of how he is progressing.
