Shortly afterwards, Tovey made his breakthrough in the stage and film versions of Alan Bennett's The History Boys. Since then he's been a detective in Marple, done Dickens in Little Dorrit, appeared in Gavin and Stacey, flown the Titanic in Dr Who and is now starring in Being Human as George the Werewolf.
