Murder Is EasyWhoever said murder is easy obviously knew what they meant when it comes to the plot of this 2009 release of the Marple DVD series. This contrived vehicle for Miss Marple is not really based on the book by Agatha Christie.
I will give the filmmakers credit for building up the character of Constable Reed (Russell Tovey). The constable is only mentioned in the novel, never really introduced, and Tovey made the character a lot of fun to watch (not that I'm biased). Tovey plays a nervous policeman who is embarking on his first murder case.
The picture above is the cover of the Australian version of the DVD which was released through our national broadcaster ABC TV. The show aired 8:30 pm Sunday June 28th 2009 on ABC1.
