And why do I like Charlie?
Charlie Condou is a highly respected actor and a friend of Russell Tovey. Over the course of running the Tovey blog I have also followed Charlie on twitter and have come to love his somewhat acerbic twittering. He can cut a celeb down to size with his rapier wit in less than 144 characters like no other person I follow. I love him for it…he's funny not nasrty! He can swear like a trooper on Twitter so be warned if you follow him...xxx
Here is a little preloved Wikipedia history for those who want his life summed up in a few paragraphs:
Charlie Lomax David Condou (8-1-1973) is an English actor who has enjoyed a successful career spanning over 25 years. He is best known outside the UK for his role as Marcus Dent in Coronation Street and in Australia he is known for playing Nino in the successful comedy Gimme, Gimme, Gimme with Kathy Burke.
Condou lives in Islington with his Canadian partner of six years, Dr Cameron Laux (seen in pic below) and his daughter, Georgia Mae.
In his youth he lived with Robbie Williams. He is godfather to Stellan, son of Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly and to Milo, son of actress Amanda Mealing and her husband Richard Sainsbury. He is friends with many celebrities including Amanda Holden, Lily Allen and is often seen in the company of Neve Campbell and her former husband John Light.
A supporter of numerous charities, Condou has signed up for the MoonWalk London 2011 on 14 May 2011 and is part of a team which hopes to raise in excess of £30,000 for the breast cancer charity.

Life is about to spring a few surprises on Coronation Street’s Sean Tully (Anthony Cotton on left above) – he’s about to become a dad!
Details of Sean’s new storyline have emerged, and we’re dead excited about it all. We already knew that Sean was set to rekindle his romance with Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou), but now we know that he’s going to meet his baby boy too.
During a trip to London, Sean runs into Marcus and they decide to give things another try (aww! Yay! Etc.). While Sean is down south his best friend Violet Wilson (Jenny Platt), with whom he fathered a child, asks the couple to take care of baby Dylan for the foreseeable future! How perfect? A ready-made family! (double aww! Yay! Etc.)
According to The Sun, Corrie bosses are fearful that older viewers could react negatively to gay parents, says a Corrie source, 'There's a chance older viewers will be shocked by the storyline, so we will handle things very sensitively.”
We love this storyline, Sean and Marcus will make the best two dads ever - and it makes a nice change to have some happy soap news!

CORRIE'S Sean Tully is to do an Elton John - by bringing up long-lost son Dylan Wilson with his boyfriend Marcus.
The gay couple - played by Antony Cotton and Charlie Condou - get back together, then agree to look after Sean's son.
Sean fathered Dylan with pal Violet Wilson (Jenny Platt) by donating his sperm when she had fertility problems. Marcus was Violet's midwife in 2008.
Violet moved to London, but Sean's "hands on" dad dream comes true when he visits her at Easter, and bumps into Marcus.
Just like Sir Elt and David Furnish, who are raising Zachary, Sean and Marcus revel in raising Dylan.
The child is played by four-year-old twins Connor and Liam McCheyne.
A top source told TV Biz: "There's a chance older viewers will be shocked by the storyline, so we will handle things very sensitively."

Coronation Street’s Sean Tully and Marcus Dent look set to become parents in a ground breaking storyline.
The newly reunited duo – played by Antony Cotton and Charlie Condou – are set to come together as they decided to raise Sean’s long-lost son together.
After Sean travels to the bright lights of London to visit best pal Violet Wilson (Jenny Platt) and their son Dylan – who he fathered by sperm donation when Violet and her partner Jamie were having fertility issues – his dreams will come true when he unexpectedly bumps into hunky ex-boyfriend Marcus.
However, in an unexpected twist, when the couple agree to give things another go, Violet drops the bombshell that she needs them to look after Dylan – played by four-year-old twins Liam and Connor McCheyne – for a while.
According to an insider at the ITV1 soap, ‘Corrie’ bosses are making a concerted effort to handle the new plot “very sensitively” in a bid to not upset its older viewers.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “There’s a chance older viewers will be shocked by the storyline, so we will handle things very sensitively.”
Becoming parents to adorable Dylan looks set to do wonders for the couple’s relationship, as it was recently revealed Sean and Marcus are going to tie the knot.
An insider explained: “When Marcus turns up in Weatherfield in the spring he is desperate to rekindle his romance. But having hurt him once, Sean is apprehensive until Marcus offers him commitment, with the future storyline leading to Corrie’s first same sex marriage.”

For people overseas wondering about the name of the restaurant in Chris Sullivan's tweet...The Rocks is the oldest suburb of Sydney NSW Oz and it's where my First Fleet ancestors Elizabeth and Anthony lived after setting up camp on the 26th January 1788. The establishment called Pancakes On The Rocks first started at The Rocks but nowadays has various other outlets in Oz. Another fave my family enjoy at The Rocks is a place known as The Spaghetti Factory. It's the only place where you can see pictures of spaghetti trees and Marconi's wireless spaghetti.
The southern side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge bisects The Rocks nowadays.
