'Being
Human' creator reveals new cast, series four
Being Human creator Toby
Whithouse has revealed full details of the show's new cast.
BBC Three's hit supernatural drama returns for its fourth series next month, but there are big changes afoot. Vampire Mitchell (Aidan Turner) was staked at the end of last series, and werewolf George (Russell Tovey) will only appear briefly in the new run. It has also been announced that Nina (Sinead Keenan) will not be returning at all. With Lenora Crichlow's ghostly Annie the only surviving cast member, she will be joined by newcomer Damien Moloney as a new vampire Hal, one of the powerful 'old ones’. Michael Socha, who guest-starred last year as young werewolf Tom, also joins the full-time cast. Introducing the new cast, Whithouse said: "Not only would it be our first series without Aidan, but Russell had decided that series four would be his last, and Sinead had decided that her Being Human journey had come to and end after series three. The mountain before us seemed even higher than usual. "But once we'd stopped rocking and shaking, we saw series four as an opportunity: we could invent new characters, expand the show in different directions, create new worlds and monsters and heroes, and add new layers to the overarching Being Human mythology." However, in the light of the new cast, Whithouse insisted that the show has "never been in ruder health". He added: "Hand on heart, I think [Damien is] one of the most exciting and versatile actors of his generation. Watching his performance grow over the filming was a joy. "Then there's Michael Socha. Promoted from semi-regular to lead. If you thought he was good in Series Three, wait 'til you see what he does in series four. Michael will break your heart this year."
Being Human returns to BBC Three in early February with an episode entitled Eve Of The War.

NOT QUITE RIGHT
Bcgkelly: @Tom_In_Oz_ @bbcbeinghuman Hard to understand how you can lose 3 out of 4 lead actors in the one year & then to drip feed info to fans shows no respect. Makes me think that working on the show was a bad experience for all.
Tom_In_Oz_: @Bcgkelly @bbcbeinghuman the plot used to be a haunted house in Bristol...now it's not - fade out - THE END
bbcbeinghuman: @Tom_In_Oz_ @Bcgkelly They all moved on for different reasons. We are sad to see them all go. Hope you stick around.. Annie needs you.
SineadKeenan: Oh #TheHotel, how I do love thee. I have my bags packed & am ready 4 someone 2 take me 2 the Grosvenor in Torquay. Amazing! Loves it I does! X

SEX WITH A STRANGER PROMO WITH RUSSELL TOVEY
The Story of Sex With A Stranger
Adam (Russell Tovey)
snubs his girlfriend Ruth (Naomi Sheldon), leaving her at home while he goes
out to a mate's birthday. Later that evening he picks up Grace (Jaime Winstone)
at a club and gets the nightbus back to hers. Bleak, funny and excruciatingly
accurate, Golaszewski's play locates the place where three lives - with all
that has gone before, and all is yet to happen - entwine in a cheerless morass
of uncertainly, boredom, loneliness and empty lust.
The Cast of Sex With A Stranger
Russell Tovey is well known for his appearances in Being Human (BBC3),
Him & Her (BBC3) and Sherlock (BBC1). Tovey makes a welcome return to the
London stage in his first piece of theatre for three years.
Jaime Winstone has starred in various British films including Made in Dagenham, Kidulthood and Donkey Punch. Her theatre work includes The Fastest Clock in the Universe (Hampstead Theatre/Leicester Curve) where her performance won rave reviews.
Since graduating in 2010, Naomi Sheldon has worked with some exemplary theatre practitioners before this, her West End debut.

FOR THE LOVE OF OZ
In this serialised story so far we
have concentrated mostly on the UK Famous Five and their owners but today’s
story is about Mark Merrett’s dog called Lady Cuddles.
Now,
Lady C. was not your average plush
toy she had a real spirit of adventure. She had travelled the world as a
backpacker,
worked in narcotics and companioned for royalty. In fact, she had too
many adventures and was weary of the world. She could have filled a book
with some of the hairy
things that she got up to!
Today the Ozziebear cousins who live
on a beach in Newcastle Australia heard the postman and waited quietly for
their owners Tom and Mrs Oz to sign for the parcel. The cousins were having a quiet
day on the top shelf of Mr Oz’s den cupboard when Tom walked in and placed the
parcel in their midst, after all, it was addressed to them. It was big and
green and mysteries. This was definitely going to be a “top shelf event” they agreed,
in a round of harmless tittering!
They were not sure where the parcel
was from but they assumed, correctly, it was from the UK. They ripped
open the box to find that it contained a Dr Who item and what looked like a cappuccino
in the middle with a tail sticking up. They were not sure what to make of the
present at first!
Within seconds Lady Cuddles popped up and gave the Ozziebear cousins a cheery greeting from Mark her
previous owner. It turned out Mark had helped Lady Cuddles to squash down
and get into the parcel…and... to avoid customs had smuggled her in a TARDIS.
Lady Cuddles came bearing many gifts
from overseas. There was a turquoise crystal necklace for Sheila, a life-sized
replica of Jack the Ripper for Kylie (she’s a bit of an anglophile), Bruce got
a lovely blue amulet made of agate and little Macca got a USB with snaps form
Blighty of Pat Ledwith, Tommy Markstahler, Andrew F. and Mark Merrett out having serious fun...
The bear cousins couldn't thank her
enough. Lady Cuddles said later that Snowy their other family member, who was
at work in a local coal mine, was the recipient of the TARDIS because she was
not going to use it any more. She revealed to her friends that she had come to
Australia to wait patiently for her one true love - Ozziebear! She knew he was
arriving from Germany soon and wanted to be here as a surprise. She had always
loved him from the days when she was little. Her family had told her it was
just "puppy love" but she didn’t care! She said that she wanted to
make Australia her new home and settle down with Ozzie. She was tired of the
world and wanted to sit on a beach and gaze endlessly into Ozzie’s eyes.
Lady had brought the cousins a lovely
Christmas card too. It was from Mark Merrett. It was one with pictures
of some hamsters having a glorious day
at a beach. Lady looked the Christmas card for a moment and compared its beach scene with the view out of Tom's window above...
"Hmm," thought Lady, "These Australian beaches look beautiful
but there's not a lot of action!"
To be continued...
Above and Below: You may have seen this man recently on TV – Russell Tovey played Sir Henry Knight in The Hound of the Basket-Cases!
ladiedevilish: @russelltovey just found this picture from the summer when I met you on an extremely drunkard night in Camden. X
lukedavidwebb: @russelltovey Picture with me and Russel... Such a friendly guy
marshy_x: @russelltovey pic of you,my brother and my fella on Xmas eve at Red Lion, Billericay. You're lovely! xx
SEX WITH A HASHTAG
edwardclarke: @Tom_In_Oz_ Ain't gonna use @russeltovey's new play's hashtag again - it's a bit of a spam bot-magnet! :-/
Tom_In_Oz_: @edwardclarke @russeltovey didn't even think of that - most people use #SWAS
edwardclarke: @Tom_In_Oz_ Aha - much better! :-) #SWAS erm - I'm not entirely certain they were discusing the play Tom ;-p
Tom_In_Oz_: @edwardclarke The play is about a Him & a Her & another Her - they might be discussing it! But probably not!
