RUSSELL TOVEY’S ARSE

The answer is of course neither human nor dancer but vampire, werewolf and ghost respectively. Yes, Being Human is back for a third series, which will hopefully be better than the badly photo shopped image promoting it. These days the supernatural comedy-drama reaches the heady heights of the Radio Times cover but it’s not that long ago that the likes of us were begging the Beeb to make the series, which was famously ditched after the pilot and revived after an internet campaign. The makers have never forgotten the internet fans’ loyalty and in the coming weeks a web-only spin-off, Becoming Human, is promised.

But in the meantime there’s unfinished business for the supernatural flatmates, not least of all as messages have been coming back from Annie, and it looks like the afterlife’s bosses didn’t take kindly to her turning them down and are sending her to Hell. So Mitchell’s off to get her back with a little help from Lacey Turner’s Lia. Meanwhile George and Nina are settling into their new home in Barry but there’s other werewolves about – including Robson Green of all people. Head vampire Herrick got resurrected at the end of Series 2 so he’ll probably want to have words with George (who killed him.) And writer Toby Whithouse has hinted that a fourth kind of supernatural creature will be introduced this year. (A zombie? I’m thinking zombies would just about work in the BH universe.) Plus, unless the show’s forgotten the secret of its own success, Russell Tovey’s clothes should be falling off on a regular basis.
