THE GOING AWAY PARTY
Before it got the end of 2011 Hamish Hamster decided it would be a jolly good idea to host a going away party for Ozziebear. In the New Year, Oz was off to live in Australia. Hamish rang up his good friend Lady (the golden retriever that once lived in Croydon London but now lives in Germany) and they sat around a fire trying to keep warm in the German winter while hatching a plan. But after many attempts to rally the locals, Hamish and Lady gave up. They could not find one party animal that lived close enough that was free on the day.
The next morning Hamish woke with a start!
“To the computer,” he said and he jumped out of bed, went straight to the kitchen for a cuppa…
It wasn’t long before the gang all arrived. England, as everyone knows, has more party animals to the square mile than any other place on Earth.
Let’s just say that the party was a raging success even though Ozziebear really didn’t remember very much of it the next day.
To be continued…
‘SEX WITH A STRANGER’
Sex
With A Stranger is the third play from Stefan Golaszewski; writer of
BBC 3's hit sitcom Him & Her and erstwhile writer and star of BBC 4's
critically acclaimed Cowards. Golaszewski's first two one man plays
(Stefan Golaszewski Speak About A Girl He Once Loved, and Stefan Golaszewski Is
A Widower) dealt with teenage love and adult demise respectively, here he plugs
the gap with a play about the middle part; the confused bit in our twenties
when we're a little unsure of whether we're grownups yet.
Adam
(Russell Tovey) snubs his girlfriend Ruth (Naomi Sheldon), and leaves her at
home while he goes out for a mate's birthday. Later that evening he picks
up Grace (Jamie Winstone) at a club and gets the nightbus back to hers.
Bleak, funny and excruciatingly accurate, Golaszewski's play locates the place
where three lives - with all that has gone before, and all is yet to happen -
entwine in a cheerless morass of uncertainty, boredom, loneliness and empty
lust.
"Both
pieces contain a cruel twist, or rather a malign stroke of fate, that it would
be a crime to give away but which add some exceedingly dark shadows, and both
are superb on the subject of sex - frank, graphic, but full of truth,
tenderness and delight".

boys would have looked like in habits?
